Mother Africa

This is my interpretation of a picture from a local artist, which I saw at a gallery. She used the European type of human and landscape, so I did a little research and came up with the above. I used various characteristics and adornment from different tribes.
After the concept I experimented with different paints. the main components are tempera and water colors. The headscarf ist done in acrylics. For the background I took a sponge for the texture and the pattern on the scarf was done with a wooden stamp.
